Go to workspace.google.com and start a plan, entering your business name and existing domain (e.g., yourbusiness.com).
Google will ask you to prove you own the domain, usually via one of these methods: 1. TXT record: add the verification code Google provides as a TXT record in your DNS zone. 2. HTML file upload: upload a specific file to your website’s root directory (only works if you already have hosting active). 3. Meta tag: add a meta tag to your homepage’s <head> section.
The TXT record method is generally the fastest and most reliable if you manage your own DNS (via cPanel’s Zone Editor or your registrar).
Remove any existing MX records and add Google’s five MX records at the priorities Google specifies (typically all pointing to smtp.google.com at priority 1 in Google’s current setup — always copy the exact values shown in your Workspace admin console, as Google updates these periodically).
In the Google Admin Console, go to Users → Add New User for each employee, or bulk-upload via CSV for larger teams.
Send a test email to and from the new address, and check Admin Console → Reports for delivery confirmation. DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to fully propagate, so allow some buffer before considering a delay a problem.
