Vulnerability Details

CVE-2026-63030 WordPress security vulnerability
CVE-2026-60137 WordPress security vulnerability
Potential Impact SQL Injection & Remote Code Execution
Recommended Fix Update WordPress to 7.0.2 or later

Recommended Action

We strongly recommend updating all WordPress installations to the latest available version as soon as possible.

The security release identified by cPanel is WordPress 7.0.2.

If a newer WordPress release is available, we recommend using the latest stable version rather than remaining on an older release.

What You Should Do

  1. Log in to your WordPress administrator dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Dashboard → Updates.
  3. Update WordPress to the latest stable version.
  4. Update your installed plugins and themes.
  5. Verify that your website is functioning normally after the update.
Important: If you cannot immediately update WordPress, additional security controls such as a Web Application Firewall (WAF) may provide temporary protection. These should be considered a temporary mitigation and not a replacement for applying the WordPress security update.

Available Security Mitigations

cPanel identifies several security solutions that can provide protection against these vulnerabilities, including:

  • Imunify360 – WAF protection for the affected WordPress vulnerabilities.
  • Wordfence – Security rules are available through supported Wordfence plans.
  • Cloudflare WAF – WAF protection for affected WordPress applications.

These protections should be considered an additional security layer. Keeping WordPress fully patched remains the recommended solution.

Emergency Mitigation

If an immediate WordPress update is not possible, cPanel documents temporary mitigation options, including blocking the following WordPress REST API endpoint:

/wp-json/batch/v1

and requests using:

?rest_route=/batch/v1

Note: These emergency measures may affect legitimate website functionality and should only be used temporarily until WordPress can be updated.
