cPanel has released an important security update to address CVE-2026-58048, a database privilege escalation vulnerability affecting supported versions of cPanel & WHM.
To maintain the security of your server, we strongly recommend updating your cPanel installation to the latest available version as soon as possible.

This update addresses a vulnerability that could allow privilege escalation within the database environment. Installing the latest cPanel update is the official mitigation recommended by cPanel. |
Action Required
Log in to your server via SSH as the root user and execute the following command:
/scripts/upcp
This command will download and install the latest cPanel & WHM updates, including all available security patches.
Verify the Installed Version
After the update has completed successfully, verify the installed cPanel version by running:
/usr/local/cpanel/cpanel -V
